Deserted Wife and Child
Familiarity and frequent interaction through social media paved the way for their love and eventual marriage. It was a union formed purely by their own choice, without the consent of either family.
The wife, a 25-year-old postgraduate from a well-established family, was beautiful and innocent. However, she knew very little about her husband’s personal background. Their connection was mainly through Instagram. He appeared smart and charming, and she unknowingly fell into that attractive trap without understanding his true character, educational qualifications, or social status.
After marriage, they began their life in a rented house. Neither of them had a stable job or a regular source of income.
One day, the husband spoke to her in a tone of helplessness, carefully masked with sweetness.
“Dear, I have already given up my relationship with my family to marry you. I cannot expect any financial support from them. I have also resigned from my job because of the low salary. I don’t know how we will continue our life like this…”
The innocent young wife, unable to understand his true nature, responded gently:
“Don’t worry. I have brought some gold ornaments with me. We can mortgage them and manage our expenses.”
The cunning husband accepted the ornaments with a bright smile. But instead of mortgaging them, he sold them at a jewellery shop and took the money.
For the next three or four months, they lived a seemingly comfortable life. Completely cut off from both families, their married life remained isolated.
Soon, the wife realized that she was pregnant. A gynaecologist confirmed the news. She was filled with joy, but her husband reacted with hesitation and discomfort.
One evening, he spoke to her softly:
“Considering our present situation, this is not the right time to have a child. For your health and future, it would be better to terminate the pregnancy.”
His words deeply hurt her. She firmly refused.
From that moment, differences began to grow between them.
One day, without giving her any notice, the deceitful husband abandoned her and fled from the rented house. His whereabouts became unknown.
Left alone and helpless, the pregnant woman tried to return to her parents’ home seeking support. But they refused to accept her, unable to forgive her for leaving them for a man she had barely known.
Rejected and broken, she approached a nearby shelter home for protection. The authorities there received her with compassion and care.
Time passed. She gave birth to a male child and slowly began to rebuild her life within the shelter.
Though burdened by her painful past, she found strength in her child.
One day, a well-wisher at the shelter, after hearing her story, encouraged her to prepare for the Civil Services Examination, considering her academic background.
She accepted the suggestion with determination.
Balancing motherhood and studies, she worked tirelessly. Her courage, sincerity, and focus gradually transformed her life.
After years of hard work, she finally achieved her dream. She cleared the Civil Services Examination and became an IAS officer.
The entire shelter rejoiced in her success.
Her parents and family members, realizing their mistake, came to meet her with bowed heads and sought her forgiveness.
Her son, now four years old, had begun his schooling in a CBSE institution. After completing her training, she was appointed as a Revenue Divisional Officer in her own home district.
Thus, the painful autumn of her past slowly turned into a new spring filled with dignity, strength, and hope.
