The Ache of Waiting for Something that May Never Come - ZorbaBooks

The Ache of Waiting for Something that May Never Come

I glared at my phone,

Over and over,

Carrying a bubble of hope,

That what I was expecting

Would happen soon.

I muted all other notifications,

Just to hear

The notification ring

From that one special person.

It was my most special day,

Yet I was not happy.

I waited till I boarded,

I waited till my train started

Its journey to Bangalore.

I waited till I closed my eyes

To receive good luck wishes

From that one person.

I have been waiting and waiting,

And waiting for a message

That never came.

The ache of waiting

Was given no value.
