The Candle Vigil

an instance 

in reverence & remembrance

i hold you high

Lost, baffled, torn

your vacuum filled

by racking pain.

lull for me, though

it lights the vicinity.

see the lit flames

hear the desperate cry

unburden the deafening stillness?

it was too early a call

the light of my eye

yet, i console.

how many more vigils?

how many more

candles to burn?

to wake the just

the morally blind.
