Ephemeral

Time moves so swiftly

We grow older,

We grow faster

youth slipping through our fingers

like sand in an hourglass

As if it was just yesterday,

we were carefree and wild

but now our bones ache

and our souls feel tired

Struggling to cling to the past

But it slips away like fume

Memories fade away like photographs

And we’re left with nothing but sanguinity

Sanguinity that the future will bring

Something bright and unprecedented

Hope that we can make the most

of the time we have left

so let’s not waste a moment

let’s seize each passing day

and live our lives with purpose

before the opportunity slips away.
