The Forgotten Boy

At St. Michael’s School, a young boy named Mark was waiting for his father to pick him up after class. As usual, his father arrived, and Mark was about to leave when he suddenly remembered—he had left his math book in his desk!

“Oh no! I forgot my book—I’ll be right back!” he told his father before rushing inside. He grabbed the book quickly, but when he returned, his father was gone.

Confused, Mark turned to his teacher. “Where’s my dad? He was just here!”But the teacher didn’t answer.

Worried, Mark ran to his sister, Lily, who was chatting with her friends. He waited impatiently until they finished, then tugged at her sleeve.

“Lily! Did you see Daddy? Did he come to pick you up? What do we do now?”

Just then, Mark spotted a line of students moving toward the school gate.

“Aha! I know what to do—we should follow them! They’ll lead us to the pickup point, and Daddy will be there!”

He turned to call Lily—but she wasn’t there.

And when he looked back, the line of students had vanished.

Mark’s heart pounded. He was alone.

Exhausted and scared, he sat down and fell asleep.

When he woke up, it was dark. The school was empty. The clock read 11 o’clock pm then he got an idea let me sleep in the school here and morning when I get up everything will be fine so is slept when he got up it was 11 o’clock a.m. and still no one was in the school

“I should go home,” he thought, but when he reached the gate—it was locked.

Panic set in. Then, he remembered—the old watchman’s stick!

Behind the school, he found a long wooden pole leaning against the wall. Using it, he climbed over the gate and escaped into the silent night.

With no one around, Mark walked and walked until

He recognized a place.

On one side of the road: fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy food stalls.

On the other: bright, tempting fast-food shops.

“I’ve been here before!”

It was the way to his friend’s house!

Following the path, he reached the house and knocked. His friend’s family welcomed him inside, letting him rest on the balcony while they called his parents.

Soon, his frantic family arrived. Mark hugged them tightly, relieved—but still shaken.

Had it all been a dream?

As they drove home, Mark glanced back at the school one last time.

Some mysteries are best left unsolved.
