Pauses

Are always un-paused –

Like the syntax in my students’ research papers that

Coil endlessly 

Never pausing

For the breaths of commas , colons or caesuras.

Breathless sentences

Like

My uterus,  throbbing

 With  un-paused menopause,

Vacillating between

The early drip -drops

 And the later dam outbursts;

After which

My Man-chester -United

Flat breasts swell into

Sexy ripe melons to match

The bloated abdomen

Which will  burst uncontrollably

Into free-verse menopause

Like poetry

That soaks my pain ,

Faster than the extra large

Pads I bought ,

Red with a blood

Only I can smell

Like pain.
