The smiles , the crackles 
The stories , the poems 
The songs, the dances 
The jokes, the tales

together.

The quiet heartbeats 
The whispering sobs
The thundering tears
When things don't go right!

The pounding heart 
The anxious mind 
The lonely ache 
The crumpled paper 
When the heart reaches out to 
another.

The joyous gifts
The lovely flowers 
The happy birthdays 
The groups and songs 
When youth is heady and strong.
