Where the Wave Spoke to the Boulder
What the Wave Spoke to the Boulder
Let me kiss your exterior hard, and caress
Your soul with a gossamer-touch; my
Love for you is unfathomable like the sea
Around; I like to assert myself every time
To touch you with my softest feelings;
You are rough and rugged, and I am
The unwavering, with single-minded devotion,
Yours only, the wave;
Many times, winds would blow me away;
Sometimes, I am in a sombre mood, and
Keep a low profile; but even in those Moments, I visualize you through my mental
Eyes; I can still feel the pulse of your
Pulsating heart crooning softly my name
In gay abandon;
For centuries, you have been a rock, and
Myself a flowing watery diva; though
I feel that there will be a change of heart,
Of the Supreme Creator, and we will be
Transformed into beautiful fairies; we will
Then enjoy fully the beauteous universe flying
Together into each-other’s arms ecstatically;
Till then, this extraordinary combination of
Hard and soft will survive the ravages
Of time, and our love songs will reverberate
Into the hearts of teeming millions;
Let us enjoy, in the meanwhile, the envy
Of the wind, the azure sky, the bright stars,
And the dancing and playful seagulls.
