poem
Mother and Child
Mother… Mother…!
I am fed up with my stay
in this sky-high tower.
When I look at the sky,
my heart rejoices
to see the beauty,
excellence and wonders of the sky.
What a beautiful,
sandal-coloured moon
and moonlight!
Glittering tiny stars
in the distant sky,
with their shut and open eyes.
Floating blue clouds
mingled with silver clouds
in the tranquil sky.
All and altogether
look so beautiful…!
Mother…! Please call
those glowing, charming
star babies here
to run and play with me
for a while.
I have more and more pleasure
in flying up into the sky
and dancing in the golden moonlight.
I would like to play and dance
with the glowing moon,
which runs alone
in the sky.
Mother…! I am also alone
in this big house,
without friends to mingle
and play with.
I am inclined to open
this tightly shut house
and feel and gain happiness
from the outside,
by flying and playing
in the vicinity
of the shy sky.
“Open liberty is better
than tightened precious property.”
