SINGER MAN LOVES A DEAF AND DUMB GIRL

A blind street singer sings melodious songs.

A deaf and dumb street girl

watches him with eagerness.

The singer smiles to himself while singing.

The street girl watches his smile with joy.

The blind singer cannot see

the beauty of nature.

The deaf and dumb girl can see

and enjoy the beauty of nature.

One day, the singer sensed

the silent presence of a girl nearby.

Her presence fascinated him,

and he liked it with curiosity.

He wished to know about that girl

with excitement.

Even though his eyes were blind,

he wished to bind her in his mind.

He softly said to the girl,

“Who are you?”

He heard no reply from her,

but only an unintelligible murmur.

Then, a passer-by introduced her to him.

Then he came to know

that she was a “deaf and dumb” girl.

Knowing this,

his mind was filled with kindness.

He spun dreams in his mind.

She too liked the blind street singer

at first sight itself.

She also spun dreams in her mind

of having a life together.

That means, both of them

are travelling in the same boat

in the same direction.

Here, blindness blended with

deafness and dumbness

in amity and love.

What a beautiful and wonderful

amalgamation of human minds!
