Challenges are what make a Person Perfect
When you will enthusiastically pursue any task, you can expect to encounter a plethora of challenges along the way. These obstacles may necessitate difficult effort from you. Embrace whatever comes with a cheerful attitude and value it. One should concentrate solely on producing, advancing, and progressing. Challenges and problems are not hindrances, rather blessings that destiny has bestowed onto you. Mahatmas such as Buddha and Vardhaman Mahavir dedicated themselves to sharing their wisdom. What is the purpose of your legs? You should use them wisely, knowing that God has created you and placed you with a plan on this Earth with your hands and legs. If you don’t take it upon yourself to progress, no amount of faith can rescue you.
‘Ek Boond’, a masterpiece Hindi poem penned by Ayodhya Singh Upadhyay ‘Hari Oudh’ tells the story of a raindrop, anxious and frightened for its destiny, with fears of becoming a non-entity, it falls into an oyster and turns into a pearl. A straightforward, viable, and moving poem that accentuates the fear of the uncertainty in us when we set out on a new endeavour or begin a new stage of life; we should give ourselves hope. The puny drop is frightened of going out from its haven, rising from the lap of clouds as the drop travelled forth, the drop kept considering again and again, “Alas! Why did I leave my home and now I am left with nothing but reservations? Will I survive or will I fall on a heap of dust and become mud? Or will I fall on an amber and get burned? Or will I land on a beautiful lotus bloom?” But fate had something else in store for the drop, it was carried away by the gusts of winds and landed in the ocean, where a beautiful oyster had its mouth open, it fell into it and became a pearl. The odyssey of the drop was from the state of ordinary to the extra-ordinary.
Advancement often requires an open and receptive mind, one that’s willing to entertain new ideas and perspectives without immediately dismissing them. Sometimes our minds can be resistant to new or unconventional thoughts, either due to preconceived notions, fear of failure, or simply because we’re stuck in familiar patterns of thinking. Creating space for creativity involves cultivating a mind-set of curiosity, exploration, and experimentation. It means being open to uncertainty and embracing the discomfort that can come with stepping outside of our comfort zones. It’s important to remember that success is a process, and it often involves trial and error. By giving ourselves permission to explore different ideas and perspectives, we can unlock new insights and possibilities that may have otherwise been overlooked. Typically people hesitate while they have to leave home, when they have to embark on a new journey, there is always uncertainty in our endeavours, and yes, the best laid plans of both mice and men often go awry. But cowering in the face of uncertainty is not the hallmark of the champions, they have the heart of Hercules, the spirit of Odysseus and the might of Achilles. You will reach your full potential when faced with challenges. Challenges essentially mould a man into his perfect self. And yes, some people tuck their tail and run, they stop pouring when the glass is half full. But running away is the trait of losers, winners circumvent their problems, they always find a way out. What would you learn about your brain’s abilities in an endeavour that doesn’t push your limits? Everyone one can do the ordinary, uniqueness lies in doing the extraordinary. And unbounding determination is all you need to get the inevitable triumph.
I will conclude this write-up with a quote from Mark Twain, the American novelist: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
