Here I stand
I love you more than words could show,
but your heart refused to let it grow.
You give your kindness far and wide,
while I’m left standing on the side.
You speak of love, yet turn away,
when I ask of tomorrow, you never stay.
The ring, the vows, the life we planned—
they vanish like footprints in shifting sand.
You keep me near, but not as one,
our story fades before it’s begun.
And though you claim I hold your heart,
your actions tear that claim apart.
So here I stand, with love undone,
a breaking heart, a setting sun.
For what hurts most is not your leaving—
but the love I gave without receiving.
