Kash Ankahee, Kyun Ankahee-1

Note:This writing is a mixture of English and Hindi

Sagar was a polyglot, a bright young man with creativity and intellect. His curiosity drove him towards new domains. He was fair and slender, very manly with a well defined graceful jawline.

Sagar was working, surrounded by dictionaries of different languages. His mind was somewhat wondering about different types of human misunderstandings, the eternal dilemma of what needs to be told and what needs to be untold. He was noting down the terms for “misunderstanding” in different languages.

Sagar(speaking to himself):

Hmmm…… Hindi mein bhram, bhranti…..

Galatfehmi in Urdu……

In Bengali bhul bojhabujhi……..

Sanskrit mein…… Sanskrit mein exact koi term to nahin hain, par………. Doshpurnabagaman……….

Thinking (playing with words):

Wah! Kya shandar soch hain! If I rearrange mis then it becomes -ism,….. an -ism of understanding…… Misunderstanding keval samajh ki biphalata nahin, balki ek -ism hain- yani ek aisi vichardhara, ek sochne ka tarika jo humari samajh ko tor-maror deta hain, yeh to ek puri pranali hain, jo asli samajh ka hi ek vikrit roop hain…… a distorted version of proper understanding.

Misunderstanding, yani Miss the Understanding, yani miss the proper understanding, yani sahi batko sahi samajh na pana…..

Jaise maano “standing under mist” – kohra ke niche khade ho, to kuch bhi saaf nahin dikhta, kuch bhi saaf samajh mein nahi ata.
