ಅನ್ನದಾತ

ಅನ್ನ ನೀಡುವ ಕೈ ಅದು ಎಂದು ಸೋಲದು l

ಅನ್ನ ಬೇಡುವ ಮನವದು ಎಂದು ಹರಸುವುದು ll

ಹೇ ತಾಯಿ ಅನ್ನಪೂರ್ಣೇಶ್ವರಿಯೇ

ನಿನ್ನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಅದ್ಯಾವ

ಜೀವಿ ತಾನೇ ಬದುಕುಳಿಯಬಲ್ಲದು !

ಪ್ರತಿ ಅಗಳಿನಲ್ಲು ತಿನ್ನೋರ ಹೆಸರು ಬರೆದಿರಬಹುದು

ಅನ್ನವೇ ದೈವ ಅದುವೆ ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮ

ಅನ್ನವಿಕ್ಕುವಾತನೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷ ದೈವ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲ !

ಪಂಚಭೂತವನೆ ದೈವವೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ

ಪರಿಪರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವ ಅನ್ನದಾತನು

ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಪ್ರಿಯನು ಹೌದು ! ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯನು ಹೌದು !

ಜೀವ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನವಿಕ್ಕುವಾತನೆ

ಭೂಮಾತೆಯ ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತ ಸೇವಕ

ಜನಾನುರಾಗಿ ಈ ಅನ್ನದಾತನೊಬ್ಬನೆ

ಬಿತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಬಿತ್ತವು ಸಸಿಯಾಗಿ

ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಫಲವದು ರಾಶಿ ರಾಶಿ ದಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ

ಅನ್ನದಾತನನು ಹಾರೈಸಿದಳು ವಸುಧೆ ತಾಯಿಯಾಗಿ .

The Giver of Food

The hand that gives food never fails,

The heart that seeks food is always blessed.

Oh Mother Annapurneshwari,

Without your grace,

Can any living being survive?

Every grain may bear the name of its destined eater,

Food is divine, it is the Supreme Being itself,

And the one who offers food —

He is God in human form!

Worshipped like the five great elements,

Is the food provider,

Indeed, a lover of all beings,

A true friend of nature!

To all living creatures,

He offers nourishment,

A loyal servant of Mother Earth,

A people’s benefactor — that’s the farmer.

Each seed he sows grows into a plant,

Yields become heaps of grain,

And Mother Earth blesses the food provider

As her own dear child.
