ದ್ವಂದ್ವಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಈ ಜೀವನ ll

ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಈ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಜಂಜಾಟ 

ಜೀವನವೆಲ್ಲ ಬೇಕು ಬೇಡಗಳ ತೊಳಲಾಟ 

ಮರಳಲಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಆಡುವ ಗೋಪುರದಾಟ ,

ಗಾಳಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ತೂರುತಾ

ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಂದಾಗ ಮತ್ತೆ ಆ ಗೋಪುರವಾ ಕಟ್ಟುತಾ

ಆಡುವ ಈ ಜೀವನಾದಾಟ

ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಈ ಜೀವನ 

ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಈ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಜಂಜಾಟ 

ಬಾಳಲಿ ಸಾರವೆ ಇರದ ಈ ಜೀವನ 

ಬದುಕಲಿ ಅರ್ಥವೇ ಇರದ ಈ ಜೀವನ

ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಬಾಳಿಗು ಕಡೆಯಾದ ನಮ್ಮಯ ಈ ಜೀವನ

ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಈ ಜೀವನ 

ಈಸಬೇಕು ಇದ್ದು ಜೈಸಬೇಕು

ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳೆಲ್ಲ 

ಹೇಳಲು ಕೇಳಲು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲ

ಜೀವನದಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಲು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲ

ವೇದಾಂತಿಗಳು ಹೇಳುವರು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಬಾಳಲ್ಲೆಂದು 

ಕತ್ತಲಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಬಂದೇ ತೀರುವುದೆಂದು

ಆದರೆ ಈ ಜೀವನದಿ ಆ ಬೆಳಕು ಬರುವುದೆಂದು ?

ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಈ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಜಂಜಾಟ

ಎತ್ತು ಏರಿಗೆಳೆದರೆ ಕೋಣ ನೀರಿಗಿಳಿದಂತೆ

ನಮ್ಮಯ ಜೀವನ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಈ ಜೀವನ

Dual Life

Life, life—

This life is filled with dualities.

Who wants the turmoil of this worldly life?

Life is just a constant pull between wants and don’t-wants.

Like playing with sand castles,

We build them up only to see them blown away by the wind,

Then, when the mind wills it, we build them again—

This is the game called life.

Who really wants this life?

Who really wants the hassle of this world?

A life with no essence,

A life with no meaning,

Even animals seem to reach a finality—so what of our lives?

Who really wants this life?

All these sayings—”We must live, we must win,”

Are easy to say and hear,

But difficult to follow in life.

Philosophers say, “After darkness, there is always light,”

But in this life,

Will that light ever truly come?

Who wants the turmoil of this worldly life?

Just like how a bull struggles when dragged into a river,

Such is our life—

Such is the life of us all.
