The accident

The year was 2019, and air in the new city was crisp and cold. My younger brother, and I had been sent there by our parents to focus on our studies. As the elder brother, I carried the weight of responsibility, always keeping a watchful eye on him.

One afternoon, we decided to explore the city. As we explored the city, he and I felt carefree and wild. We wandered through the streets, taking in the sights and sounds of our new surroundings. But little did I know, fate had other plans. After a while, he hopped onto a passing bike with someone he knew, leaving me behind.A strange unease settled in my heart.

I was about to head back to our room to find him when the phone rang. It was our parents.”to me, where are you? He has been in an accident. Get to the hospital immediately! “The words hit me like a punch to the gut. My mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. Moments later, my phone buzzed with a call from his phone. It was an unknown voice. “Hello, I found this phone with him. Is this his brother?” “He’s been in an accident. Get to the hospital right away! Tears welled up in my eyes, fear gripping my heart.I was terrified, praying that nothing serious had happened. I needed to get to him, but I was lost in this unfamiliar city.I rushed out, frantically searching for the hospital, but I was new to city. I ended up at the wrong place twice. Finally, a call from his phone “to me, where are you? Come quickly! I took a deep breath, carefully noting the name of the hospital.” and he guided me to the right location.

When I finally found the correct hospital, I rushed to him bedside. He was lying there, his face and head covered in blood. I held his hand and prayed, trying to stay calm. He saw me and weakly said to the unknown person, “This is my brother, give him my phone and wallet.” Hearing those words, I broke down, feeling helpless and scared. The fear of losing him had taken its toll on me. I felt shattered and blue.

As they prepared to transfer him to another hospital in an ambulance, His condition was critical, and he was rushed to another hospital As they loaded him in, I instinctively reached out and held his head, my hand trembling, his face pale and covered in blood. My heart pounded with fear as I prayed for him to be okay. The fear was overwhelming, but I clung to the hope that he would be alright. The next two days were critical, but he was still fighting for his life in the hospital. It was a long, agonizing wait, but he pulled through. When he finally recovered, his smile was brighter than ever, and we celebrated with joy.”GOD saved him,” I whispered, filled with gratitude. “May no one ever face such a terrible ordeal.”

The accident had left its mark, a reminder of the fragility of life. Yet, it also sparked a newfound appreciation for the simple joys. The laughter, the shared meals, the quiet moments of companionship – these were the things that mattered most. I began to notice the beauty in the everyday, i learned to live in the present, to savor each moment, i learned that life is a precious gift, a gift that we wouldn’t take for granted again.

I realized that while i could have tried to stop it, fate had a plan, and sometimes, the best we can do is accept what is and find the strength to move forward.
