Ruhi and the Nightmare Monster
Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by tall trees and twinkling stars, lived a little girl named Ruhi. She was cheerful and brave during the day—climbing trees, helping her mother, and reading fairy tales aloud to her little brother.
But when night came and the moon rose, something changed.
Each time Ruhi closed her eyes, she entered a strange dream. In her nightmare, she stood alone in a dark forest. The trees looked like they had eyes, and there was always a growl coming from the shadows. A tall, shadowy Nightmare Monster would appear, with glowing red eyes and a scary voice that said.
She would always wake up with tears in her eyes, heart thumping fast.
One morning, tired of being afraid, Ruhi told her Dadi (grandmother) about the nightmare. Dadi listened quietly and then said with a smile.
That night, Ruhi fell asleep, and the dream began again. The dark forest, the wind, the monster… everything was the same.
But this time, Ruhi didn’t run. She stood tall and shouted.
The monster paused. Its red eyes blinked. Then, in a small, shaky voice, it said.
Ruhi blinked in surprise. The monster wasn’t growling now—it looked… sad.
So Ruhi sat on a rock and said, “You don’t have to scare me. We can be friends if you promise not to chase me anymore.”
The monster smiled for the first time. It shrank into a small, fluffy creature and sat beside Ruhi.
From that night on, Ruhi’s nightmares disappeared. Instead of fear, her dreams were filled with magical forests, talking animals, and her new friend—the former Nightmare Monster, now her dream-time protector.
