The Lonely Robot

Once upon a time, in a quiet corner of a large city, there lived a robot named Robo. He wasn’t big or shiny like the robots in movies. He was small, round and had big glowing eyes that changed colour with his mood.

Robo was built to help around the house. He cleaned floors, watered plants, and made sure the pet cat, Whiskers, got her food on time. He loved his job but more than anything, he wanted a friend.

Everyday, he watched the children outside playing together. They laughed, ran, and shared secrets. Robo wished he could play too, but whenever he tried to join, they ran away, scared of his metal arms and blinking lights.

One rainy afternoon, as Robo sat by the windows feeling sad, he heard a tiny voice cry, Help!! He rolled outside and saw a little girl named Maya stuck in the mud. She had fallen while trying to rescue her kitten.

Without thinking, Robo extended his arms and gently pulled her out. His circuits buzzed with happiness as she smiled at him.

“Thank you, Robo!” she said, brushing mud off her dress. You’re not scary at all.

From that day on, Maya and Robo became best friends. She taught him how to draw, read stories, and even sing silly songs. And in return, Robo protected her, helped her with homework, and made her laugh with his robot dances.

Soon, other children joined too. Robo wasn’t just a helper anymore – he was family. He wasn’t lonely again.
