The Woman Who Planted Dreams

In a quiet village surrounded by dry fields and dusty roads, lived a woman named Lata. She was not rich, nor famous, but she had something very special — hope.

The land around her had stopped growing crops. The villagers believed nothing could grow there again. Many families left in search of better places, but Lata stayed.

Every morning, she walked to the barren field with a bag of seeds, a small pot of water, and a heart full of belief. She dug little holes with her hands and planted the seeds gently. Children laughed and said, “Nothing will grow there!” but she only smiled and said, “Let’s wait and see.”

Months passed. The sun was harsh, the rains were few, but Lata didn’t give up. She cared for each little plant like it was her child.

Then, one morning, something magical happened. A small green shoot appeared. Then another. And another. The dry land was slowly turning green!

The villagers couldn’t believe their eyes. Inspired by Lata, they began planting too. Soon, the whole village was blooming with flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Birds returned, and so did laughter.

One child asked her, “Why did you never stop?”
