Their Own Queries

“We are known as

Siamese twins…!

We are conjoined twins.

Our birth on this earth

is a wonder to the world,

with one body and two hearts.

We can watch the world

with four eyes and two minds.

We believe in the very existence

of the Almighty.

We live between the claims and blames

of the logical and the illogical.

Science explains

the form and formation

of a birth like ours.

But it is true

that we face a dilemma

before the onward journey of life.

The natural bond

that joins our bodies from birth

sometimes makes our lives

miserable.

Yes…!

We are human beings,

with hearts and minds of our own.

Our conjoined body moves as one,

but our separate minds

think independently.

We, conjoined twins,

have our own individual emotions,

to disclose and present

before the world.

We cherish individual freedom

and the privacy of our minds,

though we live together

in a single body.

Who knows and understands

our individual emotions

and the thoughts

that arise within our minds?

Almighty…!

It is true that You are ever-mighty,

able to see the whole world

and all that exists within it.

You gave us birth on this earth,

along with a conjoined body

and a life full of questions.

Being conjoined twins,

we are proud of our birth,

even with its limitations

and moments of sorrow.

We believe that our birth on earth,

is a precious gift

from the Almighty.

Since we are Siamese twins,

we find no fault with anyone

for the way we were born.

We accept our birth

as a worthy gift

from the unseen Creator.

We, Siamese twins,

will live on this marvellous earth

with abundant courage—

conjoined in body,

but independent in thought.

Every human birth

is a gift of the universal power,

and every human life

is precious to the whole world…!
