POEM
WE ARE FLOWERS
“We are flowers,
Colourful lovers!
Once, we were buds,
Thence, we grew fast.
Today, we have blossomed;
Now, we are mature.
Our beauty is nurtured by others.
We sprinkle fragrance all around us.
Butterflies mingle with us in love;
They fly and play around us.
Their kisses make us feel loved;
They suck nectar from us.
Our lovely bond makes Our mutual love stronger.
Our smiles and kisses Make our hearts spacious.
But this love is not eternal.
Day by day, we, the flowers, Begin to wither.
Our health and beauty fade away;
No nectar remains on our lips.
Now, our bond with butterflies Begins to fade.
Tomorrow, we, the flowers, Will fall to the earth,
Apparently without worth.
What beauty! What love on this earth?
Where there is health and beauty, There will be many around us.
When and where both health and beauty diminish,
There may be no lovers or admirers.
Are all these merely Fancy-dress performances,
Staged by the perfect Universal Power?”
