Fantasia Romancia II contd.

But even though she was immersed in the prince after tempest had raged, a beautiful spring breeze ushered in a real man in her life again. He was not as appealing as the prince, but he was still not enmeshed in marital bond. She mixed with him without any expectations. They gradually developed a beautiful relationship, everyday wishing good morning, exchanging songs and paintings and photographs of creative and physical activities. He was more instrumental to maintain a regularity in messaging and enquiring about her without any exaggeration. Prince was there, but the touch of a real man brought brighter hues in her life.

Both he and the prince coexisted in her realm of love- he colored her days in the tangible world, Prince colored her imagination and soul. Prince was always there so it did not really matter to her whether he colored her days or not. She absolutely did not develop dependence on him. But he was a source of joy and inspiration. She was actually very loving and caring. But she had realized that her intensity of love, care, concern for well being of others was not valued. mocked or ridiculed by mostly ungrateful insensitive people. So she showered all her genuine love, care, concern on prince but she vowed not to do so on any mortal human being except her mother. She mixed with him happily but with a certain level of indifference. She was happy that she could be so.

One morning, he sent her a song sung in his own voice—one of her most favourite songs:

“On the night when the tempest broke open my doors, I was oblivious that you had come. Everything became dark; the light of the candle went out. I do not know towards whom, in the sky, I stretched my hand. I remained in the darkness as if in a dream. How would I know that the storm was symbolic of your victory? In the morning, I saw you standing amidst the loneliness of my room.”

She wondered, perhaps only fleetingly, whether the song had arrived at her door carrying a meaning she was not meant to ignore.

But she did not allow herself to build expectations around it. That was the difference now.

The Prince, in her imagined realm of blue, and he, bearing the name of heavenly blue, stood amidst the blue mountainous landscape adorned with multi-coloured flowers beneath the clear blue sky. Both beckoned her with outstretched hands towards a world soaked in love. Though the Prince continued to dominate her inner landscape and emotions, he gradually carved a special place in her heart. He respected her. He was not the man of her dreams, but he was a man who brought a quiet regularity to their connection. She never knew where the relationship was destined to lead, nor did she concern herself with its future. For the first time, she was content to let the present unfold at its own pace- unforced, unhurried.
