Dr. Anil Vishnu Moharir, M.Sc. Physics, Ph.D. (IIT-Delhi) presents a compelling exploration of Sanatan Vedic philosophy through the lens of modern science. This book brings together his multidisciplinary articles that reinterpret ancient Vedic concepts using contemporary scientific terminology, mathematical reasoning, and experimental understanding. It highlights the idea that the principles governing the creation of the universe and the evolution of life existed long before human philosophical inquiry and can still be meaningfully understood through modern scientific language.
For thousands of years, ancient Indian seers—the Vedic Rishis—captured the mysteries of nature, energy, and the cosmos through symbolic Sanskrit literature. Concepts expressed in the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, and the Bhagavad Gita were never meant to be mere mythology. They were profound scientific observations encoded as Devatas such as Agni (energy), Vayu (air/force), Surya (light/radiation) and many more.
In this insightful work, Dr. Anil Vishnu Moharir decodes these ancient symbols and reveals their striking alignment with modern scientific principles. He demonstrates how the spiritual vision of Sanatan Dharma contains a deep scientific spirit—one that resonates with physics, cosmology, energy systems, and natural laws as we understand them today.
This book is ideal for readers seeking a bridge between Vedic wisdom and contemporary science. It offers the younger generation a refreshing perspective on how India’s spiritual heritage is rooted in rational inquiry, observation, and scientific thought. Whether you are a student, researcher, spiritual seeker, or simply curious about the science behind ancient Indian knowledge, this book opens a doorway to understanding the Vedic worldview through a modern lens.
About the Author
Dr. Anil Vishnu Moharir is a distinguished physicist and researcher with a career spanning over five decades. Holding degrees in Physics (B.Sc., M.Sc.) from Jiwaji University and a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, he began his scientific journey at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in 1967.
He later served the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in multiple senior scientific roles, contributing pioneering work in spectroscopy, spectro-photometry, electron microscopy, and biological material analysis. His innovations include:
- New spectro-photometric methods for trace detection of Iron and Titanium
- Techniques in electron microscopy, including Contact Electron Micrography
- A practical procedure for screening drought‑tolerant wheat and rice varieties
- The concept of Normalized Moisture Hysteresis, adopted internationally, including by DANONE Biscuits, Belgium
- High‑resolution Holey Carbon Films for electron microscopy
