The Fall

THE FALL

I had been clinging on,

to my support all these days,

with no idea of what would happen

if my only support fails.

I shone differently from all,

wearing brightly colored attire,

as it was the season

to spread warmth and hope.

My time for detachment came.

I feared I would be taken away,

along with the millions to the land of the unknown.

I knew I was nearing my end.

Finally, I could not stop myself from falling.

As the cold breeze carried swiftly,

dropping me on the highway.

I was hit hard: I could not move.

Many were trampling me.

Heavy tires would smash my veins.

But I feel no pain now—

I’m just a dead leaf.
