Demons
Beneath my skin, the shadows crawl,
Whispering lies I can’t recall.
They twist and turn inside my mind,
No peace or solace do I find.
These demons feast on fragile hope,
Tightening chains I cannot cope.
They wear my face, they speak my name,
But all they offer is guilt and shame.
In darkest corners, they reside,
A storm that rages deep inside.
They claw, they bite, they tear apart,
The fragile edges of my heart.
No light escapes their suffocating grip,
Each breath they steal, a sinking ship.
I drown beneath their cruel demand,
Trapped in a wasteland, dry and damned.
They whisper secrets, poison sweet,
Promises broken, bitter deceit.
A war without an end in sight,
Where hope fades into endless night.
Yet still, beneath this crushing weight,
A flicker fights to change my fate.
Though demons prowl and shadows grow,
A stubborn ember dares to glow.
