Description

Not only was Sripad Aindra Prabhu an out-standing kirtaniya, but he was also a fired-up preacher. Whenever he was given a chance to speak, it was as if red-hot lava poured forth from his mouth, coming straight from his heart which was burning in the fire of love for God.
The lecture series compiled in this first volume of Sri Sri Harinama-Kalpataru was delivered in 2001 during the sacred month of Kartik, and deals with many important transcendental subject matters such as how to chant the holy names of God, and the importance and realizations of staying in a sacred place.
A “kalpataru” is a wish-fulfilling tree, and “harinama” means the names of Krishna. In other words; the names of Krishna are like a transcendental wish-fulfilling tree. Sripad Aindra Prabhu was always eager to chant and inspire others to do so as well. With this book – which is only the first volume of many others to come – we hope to continue spreading Sripad Aindra Prabhu`s love of Godhead and enthusiasm for harinama all over the world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sripad Aindra Prabhu (1953 – 2010) was a very exceptional Vaishnava saint who dedicated his entire life to God`s holy names. Born in Virginia (U.S.), he met the followers of the Hare Krishna movement in his early twenties. Deeply touched by the divine sound of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, he decided to join the movement. Later in 1986, he settled down in the holy town of Vrindavan in India. There, he re-inaugurated the 24-hours kirtana which had originally been established by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the Hare Krishna movement and the spiritual teacher of Aindra Prabhu. By staying in Sri Vrindavan-dhama, Aindra Prabhu gained the potency of affecting the entire world by his pure chanting of the names of God. He did so for 24 years until he suddenly left this world, leaving behind thousands of people crying in separation.
